So as promised after playing on different Légère reeds for a few weeks I have some thoughts. First the stuff that everyone knows but is worth going over in brief. There are four kinds of Légère clarinet reeds: Standard, Ontario, Quebec, and Signature. They range in price from about $15 – $25/reed (there’s a student version [...] Here’s a quick tip on mouthpiece patches. I used to go through them all the time until I figured out the secret. Get yourself two mouthpiece patches – one that’s thin and tough, the other should be thicker and spongy or softer (usually they are clear and black respectively).
